Extraordinary 3,000-Year-Old Egyptian Coffin Restored by Spanish Archaeologists

 In an exciting collaboration between the Association of Friends of Madrid's National Archaeological Museum (AMAN) and the Iberdrola Spain Foundation, a remarkable ancient Egyptian wooden coffin belonging to the priestess of Amun, Ruru, is undergoing restoration.

The primary focus of the restoration is to prevent the delicate paint layer from further damage. Ignacio D'Olhaberriague Martínez, a cultural property restorer and archaeology specialist, explains the importance of preserving the coffin's thin layer of mortar.
