Exciting Camel Race in Sinai: 893 Camels to Compete at El Alamein Track

The organizing committee for the camel race at the "El Alamein" track has successfully registered 893 camels for the upcoming event. Dr. Mahdi El-Bayady, the Championship Director of the Egyptian Camel Federation, announced that these camels will participate in the 30 race runs. Owners from various governorates across Egypt, including North and South Sinai, Ismailia, Sharkia, Suez, Matrouh, New Valley, Luxor, Aswan, Minya, Sohag, and Cairo, have brought their camels to compete in the race.

 

Salama Ibrahim Tarabin, a racing official at the Egyptian Camel Federation, explained that the race will commence with two heritage runs, where lightweight camels will be ridden. Following that, the runs will continue using robotic passengers controlled remotely. The distances covered in each run vary based on the type and age of the participating camels, ranging from 2 to 4 kilometers. The marathon run will be approximately 5 kilometers long.

 

The camel race spans two consecutive Egypt Day Tours and incorporates traditional elements, such as the camels walking in the traditional Sinai decorations of the Bedouin tribes. The event also features artistic performances and various popular shows to entertain the spectators.
